My name is Arati Dhimal. I live in Mechinagar Municipality along with my family. We are five member in family me, my husband, one son and two little daughters. By profession, we run a hotel. Human life is full of challenges, so one has to be compelled to have an adventurous life. But we mustn’t be panic. With patience and positive concept, we can handle our life to grab a great achievement in no time. So, I am telling you a story of my experience about own life with full of struggles.
The economic condition of my house was poor, so I couldn’t study as I desired. For me, to get a good job to support my family also was like a mirage as I only had completed grade six. In 2055 BS, at 16 I got married to a 19- year old Lawansing Dhimal. For family happiness and the betterment of our children’s future, we borrowed a big money to send my husband abroad, Malaysia. Foreign land also wasn’t like as we imagined. There some bad guys stole all the money my husband had and they badly hurt him. I rescued him by borrowing money second time. Later my husband started carpentry in own soil. I maintained household and children’s study expenses from my own wages. In 2066 BS, one of my neighbors told me to attend a seminar of ‘Jeevan Bikas’, a financial institution to uplift the people under the poverty. So, I did attend the seminar in village. I got enrolled and we got 20000 rupees loan from ‘Jeevan Bikas’ to support our children’s study. Our earning from work could pay monthly premium and it was supporting our household expenses. But there was still unpaid debt that was borrowed to send my husband to Malaysia. It caused a fuss between my husband and father –in-law. To be rescued from debt, again my husband flied to Mumbai, India. After 3 months, he got back home bare hands having no penny at all. In anger, my father –in-law shut the door of house for us. Where could we go with kids in such condition? We didn’t have any options, so we decided to do something in own village.
My husband had learned some ideas in cook while he had been working in a restaurant in Mumbai as a waiter. That skill became a boon for our risk. We planned to have 60000 rupees loan from ‘Jeevan Bikas’ again. We used 30 thousand rupees to build a hut for shelter. We spent remain 30 thousand rupees to purchase things necessary to run hotel. Life was hard even. Because of hotel business in home, we wouldn’t have enough space. So we had to spend night unslept holding babies on laps especially on rainy nights. I mean we didn’t have even a sleeping bed. We were so busy at work that we used to work till even late night. We worked hard every day. On the advice of village priest, we named ‘Hotel Parina’ after the name of youngest daughter. We kept working hard. So, we succeeded to pay all the borrowed money back. We became able to pay loan back to ‘Jeevan Bikas’ as well. Again we got 100 thousand rupees from ‘Jeevan Bikas’ to grow our hotel business.
After getting a good income from hotel business we decided to make it our long term business. So, we planned to run it with advanced ideas. We built a beautiful house having a tiny perfect temple in front of it. Finally we have 300 thousand rupees loan from ‘Jeevan Bikas’ to promote our business in a wide concept. Every life has a turning point in course of time, during that period life can achieve immense success if he/she gets a well support. We had a hard time, even relatives were turning their face away from us, we were roughly suffered from poverty, we had no ways to go ahead. In such crisis, ‘Jeevan Bikas’ supported to uplift our life style. Now we are successful to have a good economic status. It is not best option to fly to abroad to pursue prosperity. One can earn a lot in own soil if he/she has an alacrity to labor hard with toil. I have been able to accumulate this prosperity on the support of ‘Jeevan Bikas’ and on own hard work. I am really thankful to ‘Jeevan Bikas’.
