Problems, challenges, ups and downs are part of human life, but understanding life's goals and moving forward to achieve it with positive thinking can lead to success. Manju Devi Swarnakar, resident of Dhanapalan Rural Municipality of Ward No. 4 in Morang district is the best example of this.
It was very difficult to manage a family of 7 persons including 4 sons, 1 daughter and provide education to them. In BS 2063, the lamp of hope and trust of her family was extinguished forever, i.e. her husband passed away. The entire responsibility of the family, which depended on her husband, now fell on Manju's shoulders.
Living with young children and running a home without any source of income was very difficult, so she decided to start an oil business. But due to lack of sufficient capital, the business did not go according to plan. As the oil business deteriorated, it became difficult to raise the family. As the financial situation worsened, the eldest son dropped out of school and began working as a daily wage to support his mother and siblings. The income from the oil business and the daily wages of the son were not enough to manage the family's expenses. she wanted to grow the business by adding capital from the loan, but since the family was in a worse position, no one believed her, if they believed, they would ask for good collateral and charge higher interest.
In 2068 (BS) she realized, she was helpless and her life was clouded, she came to know about Jeevan Bikas, an organization that offers loans without collateral. She entered Jeevan Bikas and took a loan of Rs 15,000 for the first time. After investing more capital in the oil business, it became easier to pay installments and cover domestic expenses. After working diligently in business, she decided to expand her business and started a textile business with additional credit. Her younger son also grew up at that time. She started a gold / silver shop in Karsia Bazar with a loan of Rs 300,000 and the younger son started running it.
Manju currently trades in oil, textiles and gold / silver. She is a successful female entrepreneur. The economic, social and educational status of the family is getting better. She thanked JeevanBikas for helping in times of trouble.
